About the Artist

Born in Upstate New York, living in Copenhagen

Painting under her childhood nickname, Birdy, Bridget Sullivan paints intimate, everyday moments. Her work keeps returning to the same question: how do we ground ourselves back to who we are and what actually matters in our life?

At a time when attention and autonomy are increasingly under threat, these paintings are an act of reclaiming simplicity. An insistence that what is ordinary is also what is most human. What fascinates her is that we are the ones who get to decide. We all have a unique ability and lens to take in the fullness of our own lives and experiences, to find and make meaning from them. She wants the person standing in front of the work to slow down and contemplate what in their own life makes them feel most alive.
